Data collection and measurement assessment in behavioral research: 1958-2013. As scientists, behavior analysts must take steps to ensure what is being measured captures the actual phenomena of interest. Three tactics in research help evaluate this relationship, interobserver agreement, reliability, and accuracy. This study analyzes to what extent current behavioral studies assess the measurement of the dependent variable.  These researchers report how dependent variables are measured, how often researchers assess these measures, how these assessments have changed over time. This article refines current evaluation tools for researchers and clinicians alike.
