ABA organizations need to understand and promote a work culture that is supportive and compassionate through listening, incorporating perspective-taking, and empathic responding to combat compassion fatigue. This workshop will help identify burnout precursors along with ways to promote a positive workplace environment using an ACT-OBM hybrid model. A case study will be shared as a means of discussing employee outcomes such as increased comfort expressing thoughts and feelings, alignment of personal values with those of their colleagues and their organization, more effective communication, critical thinking with colleagues, judgment free approach to addressing challenges, and meeting personal and professional goals. Participants will learn strategies to promote communication, alignment, and commitment, and to proactively combat compassion fatigue.
